Leaving the grand foyer, one approaches the circle foyer, richly carpeted and adorned with divan furniture, and
tapestries, harmonising with the general color scheme. Artistic lighting specially designed and suspended from
the ceiling with a Gothic suggestion and fountain effect, is an outstanding feature. The shell pink glass of the
lights gives a restful atmosphere to the whole extensive foyer. From the circle there are doors leading to the
ladies and gentlemen's retiring rooms. Leaving the richly decorated foyer and textured walls, one enters the
theatre proper, where the scene is one of great beauty and charm, and one glance is sufficient to see that the
theatre has been designed for comfort. The general color design is gold and old ivory with the Spanish note.

On each side of the proscenium are two magnificent proscenium boxes. The color scheme behind the curtains
is Paris blue, giving the effect of infinite depth, and toning with the ceiling. There is the most delicate coloring
in the panels, and the eye is arrested by the chandeliers which are a replica of the great chandelier in the grand
foyer. Six of these beautiful fittings diffuse a soft glow of rose color light, this soft light is a sheer delight
compared with the glare of ordinary lighting. The stage is of ample proportions, and is equipped with modern
lighting, with satin plush curtains of the richest quality.

One of the best and also one of the most important features of the Plaza Theatre from the theatre goers point
of view is the comfort which is found in all the seats. The management has been generous in this respect,
considering how valuable space is in a theatre of this kind. Seating in the lounges are upholstered with rubber-
treated material. The backs of the seats are elastically padded, and the whole covered with rich Genoa velvet.
The seats in the dress circle are of the same design only they are upholstered in red Moroccan leather. To enter
the stalls one passes through the grand foyer along a roomy chamber 10 feet wide and 60 feet in length and
passing through the polished doors one is impressed by the broad sweep of the balcony.

Passing through one of the large doors in the stalls, one goes down a little slope to a point in the middle of the
theatre where one meets the latest idea in the modern theatre. The floor is "upper swept", which means that
after walking for two thirds of the distance towards the stage the floor takes and upward sweep. This provides
a restful and comfortable angle for the vision of people occupying the seats and takes away any feeling of
weightlessness associated with ordinary levels. The seats in the sides of the theatre have a parabolic curve
towards the sides. From every part of the theatre one is able to sit at perfect ease and find the centre of the
             stage the natural focus.
