In February of 1967, Greater Union opened their new theatre -The Bercy - In nearby Bourke Street. and the
Grosvenor's days were numbered .

The end came In June of 1968, following a two-week season of the film "Don 1 Just Stand There• doubled with
"The Doomsday Flight •• Within days of closure the auditorium and foyers had been gutted to create a car-park
for the VIctoria Hotel, a function it still serves to this day.

Following expiration of the original 65 year lease In 1992, the VIctoria Hotel purchased the freehold from the
Collins Street Baptist Church.
