            Carlton          Nova now has four screens.

            Cranbourne       Fifth screen has opened.

            Cheltenham       Moorabbin Standard 27/9/95 reported that the first stage of the $250 million Southland
                             Shopping Centre redevelopment is expected to be the construction of a new 16 theatre
                             cinema complex. Westfield and Greater Union confirmed this month the decision to build a
                             5000 seat cinema "MEGAPLEX" as part of a $200 million cinema building program at
                             seven Westfield Shopping Centres across Australia. The new centre, which will replace the
                             existing 8 theatre complex will be built on top of a new two-deck carpark to be constructed
                             along the main Nepean Highway frontage. A new food court and "Virtual Reality" centre will
                             be incorporated into the new cinema centre.

            Dromana          Third screen to open at the drive-in.

            Greensborough    Hoyts are to open a multiplex.

            Melbourne        Rialto Vision Theatre at the Rialto. Reputed to be the only one of its kind in the World, or any
                             other large place. It only costs $2 to see a sensational, million dollar, ultra-super wide-
                             screen, stunning surround-sound film (not video) "Melbourne The Living City". Open for 10
                             hours a day, every day but Christmas day.

            Melbourne        The new Melbourne Casino is now only,going to have 18 cinemas, showing 24 hours a
                             day.  Still no word of any OMNIMAX or IMAX. What an opportunity missed.

            Melbourne        Regent opened to the public on Sun. 8th of October . Part of "Melbourne's Open House".

            Montmorency      Rotex/Were Street theatre now a newsagency.

            Preston          Hoyts 8 at Northland has had the foyer renovated.

            Yarraville       Sun restoration is well under way -see history No. 38 (above).




            COMING EVENTS



            October 22       Annual General Meeting. Followed by films by Stan Gunn.

            November 12      Day trip to Kyabram by bus

            December         End of year social function.  Notice to be in the minutes of the next meeting

            December 25      Christmas Day will be held on this day this year. A Merry Christmas To All.

            December28       1 OOth Year of Movies - Dinner & Movie at the Abel Tasman Dutch Club.
