PICCADILLY

                                               orth Adelaide’s Piccadilly Cinema
Ncelebrated its 70th Birthday with a special
charity event on Sunday October 24, 2010.
A screening of the theatre’s original
opening attraction First Love starring Deanna
Durbin was enjoyed by all, as was a supper
                                           and live foyer entertainment.
The Piccadilly first opened on October 23,
1940 by Clifford Theatres. In 1967 it was
taken over by Greater Union and renamed the
Forum until 1983 when Wallis Cinemas were
able to purchase the property and relaunch it
as the Piccadilly. In 1990 the venue was
sympathetically tripled, retaining much of its
                                           art-deco glory.
