The CATHS-V Archive has had several opinions about this identification. It has been proved that it is
not the foyer of the Time Balwyn nor the Roxy Maidstone. Is it the Circle Preston?
This pic is in the Harold Paynting Collection of the State Library of Victoria. It is labelled ‘sweets
counter, probably in a theatre’. The design was possibly matching doors to the ticket box and
to the lolly shop, much like the Sun Yarraville.The inverted cone light may be a clue.
