       On closure of Wollongong’s Crown, Savoy and
       Civic theatres in the mid-1960s, the  Regent
       remained as the sole cinema in town
       until Greater Union opened its three-screen
       Town Cinemas complex in 1976 on the corner
       of Burelli and Church Streets.

       Herbert’s daughter, Rowena Milgrove, managed   ^ƚĂůůƐ ǀŝĞǁ ŽĨ  ŝŶĞŵĂ^ĐŽƉĞ ƐĐƌĞĞŶ͘  Stalls.

       Following her death on 11 January 2004 the
       HVWDWH¶V  EHQH¿FLDULHV  VKRZHG  OLWWOH  LQWHUHVW  LQ
       running the cinema which many locals thought
       had been running at a loss but propped up
       by Mrs Milgrove’s resources, unquenchable
       enthusiasm and drive.
